At the same time, Google will open a Google Store page for the $79 virtual reality helmet. Currently, users can already book Daydream View helmets. Daydream View sells for $70, and Google will use a comfortable, breathable fabric to make this product. The device will be sold through the Verizon Business Hall and Best Buy stores in the United States, while other retailers and mobile companies will sell the product in markets such as Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Australia.
Daydream View is also equipped with an action joystick that simulates a hand in a virtual reality scene.
Daydream View is Google's first helmet to support the company's Daydream virtual reality platform. The Daydream virtual reality platform is based on the Android Nougat operating system. Currently, VR helmets need to be used in conjunction with Google’s recently released Pixel or Pixel XL phones. Other compatible phones are expected to be launched in the coming months.
So far, Google has only provided a one-color Daydream View virtual reality helmet, that is, dark blue gray. The other two colors of the Daydream View helmet will be launched later, the two colors are dark red and snow white. All versions of Daydream View helmets are made of soft fabrics and foams with a plastic frame. The Daydream View virtual reality helmet assembly also includes a plastic remote control that is primarily charged via USB-C. The user can purchase a separate wiring or use the wiring associated with the Pixel mobile phone.
