NAND flash memory prices continue to decline

Taiwan media reported that news from memory chip makers said that although Apple’s iPhone and iPad sales were hot, it could hardly prevent the mainstream MLC NAND flash chip futures prices from falling in the first half of September.

Apple has placed a large number of orders for flash memory chips for its iPhones and iPads, but even so it is difficult to push up the price of NAND flash memory, which is inconsistent with the previously existing close ties between Apple and NAND flash memory. Previous sales of Apple products have often led to a shortage of NAND flash memory.

However, the reality is that the current demand for flash memory chips in various channels is still weak, and it is difficult for students to return to the school season and the upcoming China Golden Week 11 to make flash prices rebound.

It is even more pessimistic that NAND flash futures prices will continue to decline in the fourth quarter of this year.

According to statistics released by the state-level technology, the average price of 32GB and 64GB NAND flash memory chips fell by 5-8% to 5.57 US dollars and 11.78 US dollars at the beginning of September, and 16GB dropped to 3.80 US dollars.
