July 30, 2018 Hamburg, Germany, TRINAMIC Motion Control Company. KG announced the launch of its first closed-loop PANdrive. Suitable for laboratory automation, manufacturing, robotics and more markets. The stepper motor and driver combine to form a reliable, easy-to-use building block for reliable motor and motion control via S-shaped ramps.
Michael Randt, Trinamic's founder and CEO, explains: "The current demand for plug-and-play solutions that don't require a lot of programming is growing, and the combination of proven stepper motors and high-end modules into PANdrives will satisfy this. Class Requirements: Reduce development time and reduce the different components required for the same application. By adding closed-loop functionality to our smart motors, we allow our customers complete control over their most advanced processes."
The PD42-x-1370 product line has a supply voltage of 9 ... 28V DC and is powered by a NEMA17 stepper motor with a holding torque of 0.22 - 0.7Nm. Integrated into PANdrive's hardware, Trinamic's S-shaped ramp motion controller ensures continuous acceleration for smooth motion with limited acceleration. Calibration of the ramp via the RS485 bus interface makes it easy to achieve high speed and high torque. This makes the solution ideal for liquid handling, life sciences, biotechnology applications, and test and measurement equipment.
In addition to S-shaped ramp profiles and real-time motion profile calculations, the product also supports Trinamic's SpreadCycle for intelligent hybrid attenuation and StallGuard2 and CoolStep for automatic current scaling. The combination of the PD42-x-1370 with dynamic changes in motor parameters and optional automatic position adjustment in the hardware makes the PD42-x-1370 a highly versatile and compact solution that further advances the technology.
