According to statistics released by the Japan Electronic Intelligence Technology Industry Association (JEITA) on the 21st, domestic thin-selling TV shipments in Japan fell 5.3% in January 2018 to 289,000 units in the same month last year, showing a decline for the seventh consecutive month. Shipments recorded the second lowest level in history since the current statistical method was adopted in 2009 (only higher than 285,000 units in October 2017).

Among them, Japan's 4K TV shipments in January were 115,000 units, a nearly 20% increase from the same month last year (up 18.6%), showing growth for the eighth consecutive month, accounting for 39.7% of the total thin TV shipments; Japan's 4K TV shipments were 18.6 billion yen, accounting for 69.2% of the overall thin TV (26.9 billion yen).

In January, Japan’s OLED TV shipments were 0.6 million units, a 60% decrease from the previous month (December 2017, shipments of 15,000 units); in January, Japan’s OLED TV shipments were 2.3 billion yen, compared with the previous month. (6.3 billion yen) a 63% reduction.

JEITA has released monthly OLED TV shipment data since October 2017, and the above-mentioned thin TV statistics do not include OLED TV.

In terms of shipments, the shipments of domestic Minsheng electronic equipment (image equipment + audio related equipment + automotive AVC equipment) in January fell 3.8% from the same month last year to 91.9 billion yen, showing a decline for the seventh consecutive month.

Among them, in January, Japan's thin-film TV and other imaging equipment shipments fell 6.2% to 39.9 billion yen, the seventh consecutive month of decline; MP3 music players and other audio-related machine shipments fell 8.5% to 8.6 billion yen, for the third consecutive Months fell; shipments of AVC machines such as car navigation systems fell 0.8% to 45.3 billion yen, showing a decline for the eighth consecutive month.
