Classification of power meters

According to the probe is divided into: thermistor type, thermocouple type, detection diode, dry load type, fluid load, mechanical force effect metal sheet type, Hall effect semiconductor type, electronic injection type

Divided into: high power meter (10W), medium power meter (10W ~ 100mW), small power meter ultra small power meter (1μW)

Divided into measurement circuits: terminal type and pass type

Divided into measured power: continuous wave power meter, pulse peak power meter

Divided by transmission line: coaxial power meter and waveguide type power meter

Main parameters of the power meter

Frequency range: The frequency range of the signal under test that guarantees measurement accuracy and performance.

Power measurement range: The maximum and minimum range of measurable power that guarantees measurement accuracy. The power range of the power meter is determined by the power probe.

Measurement accuracy: Refers to the accuracy of the power probe calibration correction. Does not include the mismatch error of the test system.

Stability: The stability of the power meter depends on the stability of the power probe and the zero drift and noise interference of the indicator. :

Response time: Also called the time constant of the power sensing element. Usually refers to the time required for the power indicator to rise to 64 [%] of the stable value.

Power meter operation steps

Connect the probe to the host via cable

After warming up, connect the probe to the host calibration source and press the calibration button to calibrate.

After the calibration is completed, the probe is removed and placed at the test point frequency for measurement.

Power meter considerations

Pay attention to the power meter and the signal under test before use.

Pay attention to the choice of probe direction and range

Do not connect the port of the power meter to the antenna to the RF transmitter of the device , and easily burn the power meter.

Use calibration source calibration before measurement

Use the power timing frequency and the measured frequency should be consistent

When the measured power is less than -50dBm, the zero should be corrected before the test.

Network Switches

A Network switch is a type of network device used to connect multiple devices in a local area network (LAN). It can receive and forward data packets through physical or wireless interfaces, sending data packets from the source device to the target device. Network switches can identify and forward packets based on MAC addresses so that data can be accurately transmitted to the target device.

A network switch usually has multiple ports, each of which can connect to a device, such as a computer, server, printer, etc. When a device sends a packet, the switch forwards the packet to the corresponding port according to the MAC address of the target device, thus achieving communication between devices.

The network switch can also divide the virtual local area network (VLAN) into multiple logical subnets, so that different devices can communicate independently on the same physical network, improving network security and performance.

In short, a network switch is a network device used to connect and forward packets, which can realize communication and network management between devices. It is an important part of building local area networks and enterprise networks.
