What is the process of separating SF6/N2 mixed gas by pressure swing adsorption?

Separation of the SF 6 gas from the SF 6 /N 2 mixed gas can be achieved by selecting a suitable zeolite. A zeolite of Ca-A type (effective micropore diameter of 0.5 nm) was selected as the main adsorption material, and a zeolite of Na--X type (effective micropore diameter of 1 nm) was used as an auxiliary adsorption material. The former can adsorb a large amount of N 2 molecules, and can hardly adsorb SF 6 molecules; the latter is exactly the opposite, mainly adsorbing SF 6 molecules.

In the following, a certain pressure swing adsorption SF 6 /N 2 mixed gas separation device is taken as an example to describe the SF 6 /N 2 mixed gas separation process. The flow chart of the device is shown in Figure 6-5. First, the mixed gas is filtered through the filter to remove water vapor and other impurities, and then charged to the main adsorber.

The separation device has two main adsorbers filled with Ca-A type zeolite, so that one adsorbs gas and the other releases gas, so that the system can work continuously and improve work efficiency. The auxiliary adsorber is filled with Na-X zeolite.

The steps to separate are as follows:

(1) Fill the filtered mixture with a main adsorber. At this point, N 2 is almost completely adsorbed, and most of the SF 6 gas can pass through it to the liquefaction system.

The liquefaction system consists of a compressor and a cooling tube.

(2) In the liquefaction system, SF 6 gas is compressed, cooled and liquefied. The liquid SF 6 is stored in the liquefaction tank, and the remaining gas in the liquefaction system is a SF 6 /N 2 mixed gas, which is again charged to the main adsorber through the buffer tank.

(3) N 2 adsorbed in the main adsorber and a small amount of SF 6 gas are charged to the auxiliary adsorber. The SF 6 gas is adsorbed and the N 2 can be directly discharged into the atmosphere. The experimentally determined that the volume concentration of SF 6 gas in the gas directly discharged into the atmosphere is only 0.06 μL / L, and the pressure swing adsorption separation device can process 13 L of gas per minute, which can meet the requirements of practical applications.
